ACT Test Prep Through MCIS

Students.  Did you know that there are free  ACT test preparation resources available to you through MCIS online?!  Here is how to access them:

1.  Go to https://mncis.intocareers.org/materials/portal/home.html
2.  Sign into your account.  See Mr. Townsend if you can't remember your user name or password.
3.  Click on the "My Portfolio" tab.
4.  Under "Test Prep" click "College Entrance/GED/ASVAB Tests"
5.  Click the two resources "ACT Practice Test" and "ACT Online Course"  

Lake Country Power Scholarship.  Seniors.  Are you or a parent a member of Lake Country Power?  You might be eligible for up to $4,000 dollars in scholarship money!  Visit www.lakecountrypower.coop under the "Community" tab and click the "Scholarships" tab for more information and the electronic application.  The application period is January 1st - January 31.

Seniors.  Are you a child, grandchild, sibling, niece/nephew of a Vietnam era Veteran?  The Northland Vietnam Veterans Association is offering three scholarships for about $1,000 to seniors in our region.  Applications are due May 10th and information can be found in the counseling office.

American Legion High School Oratorical Scholarship Program

9-12th graders.  The High School Oratorical Scholarship Program is an opportunity to earn scholarships for college.  The purpose of The American Legion's National High School Oratorical Contest is to develop a deeper knowledge and appreciation of the Constitution of the United States on the Part of High School Students, and to win Scholarship Money.  Other objectives of the contest include the development of leadership qualities, the ability to think and speak clearly and intelligently, and the preparation for acceptance of the duties and responsibilities, rights and privileges of American citizenship.  See Mr. Townsend and https://www.legion.org/oratorical for details.

Seniors, are you interested in a Science or Math major.  You might qualify to apply for the $20,000 Alworth scholarship!  See the Mr. Townsend or the flyers around school for details.  The deadline is January 15th.

 Advance IT Minnesota is seeking young women in high schools across the state with emerging aspirations and accomplishments in technology, to apply for the Minnesota Aspirations for Women in Computing awards program online at http://advanceitmn.org/aspirations-in-computing-awards. Applications are being accepted through November 7th, 2016.
