New Local Scholarship for Seniors!

Ely Area Credit Union Scholarship $500

The Ely Area Credit Union is offering a $500 scholarship to a member of the Ely Memorial High School Senior Class.  The Board of Directors of the credit union will review all of the submitted applications and choose the recipient.  The scholarship will be paid to the recipient after the first semester of post-secondary education is complete and the student presents their grade sheet to the credit union.

Eligibility:

1.    Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.

2.    A letter of recommendation from a classroom teacher.

3.    Applicants must be involved in at least one school activity or community activity.

Senior girls.  Are you the daughter or grand daughter of a veteran?  Consider applying for The American Legion Auxiliary Scholarship.  This is an addition to the Local Scholarships.  See Mr. Townsend for details.

Seniors.  Do you participate in horticultural and/or gardening activities?  Visit the counseling office to find out about a scholarship opportunity!

Seniors.  Do you have a parent who is or was a Member of the Local Union 1938 United Steelworkers U S Steel Corporation?  You can apply for one of ten $750 scholarships.  See Mr. Townsend for details.

ACT Test Prep Through MCIS

Students.  Did you know that there are free  ACT test preparation resources available to you through MCIS online?!  Here is how to access them:

1.  Go to https://mncis.intocareers.org/materials/portal/home.html
2.  Sign into your account.  See Mr. Townsend if you can't remember your user name or password.
3.  Click on the "My Portfolio" tab.
4.  Under "Test Prep" click "College Entrance/GED/ASVAB Tests"
5.  Click the two resources "ACT Practice Test" and "ACT Online Course"  

Lake Country Power Scholarship.  Seniors.  Are you or a parent a member of Lake Country Power?  You might be eligible for up to $4,000 dollars in scholarship money!  Visit www.lakecountrypower.coop under the "Community" tab and click the "Scholarships" tab for more information and the electronic application.  The application period is January 1st - January 31.
